We always knew we wanted to give back and we knew that a business would be a perfect platform to raise awareness and make a difference!
As part of our core values we are devoted to being involved with creating change in our world so that communities and families can have a better life. Both Haleigh and Heather have been impacted by sexual abuse within their inner circle and feel very passionate about helping to end abuse both locally and worldwide. The district of Tropeang Prasat, Cambodia is especially at high risk for sex trafficking due to its high level of poverty and proximity to the border of Thailand.
Bubs & Windy has decided to partner with Food for the Hungry (FH) within this district. Heather has personally been involved with Food for the Hungry for the past 3 years. She organized and managed a fundraising event with her previous employment that raised $30,000 directly for the town of Acul, Guatemala.
FH works with communities to help address the root of the problem (poverty) instead of the symptom (trafficking). FH hires leaders from within the community to make changes in four areas: Education, Health, Livelihood, and Leadership. When the community has the tools to thrive independently they can then partner with another community to help them out of the same impoverished conditions that they overcame.
Bubs & Windy gives 5% of profits to the district of Tropeang Prasat. To learn more about FH and our partnership, click here.
